00 / A point of view

Jewelry
is art.

A Note From Our Founder

A piece can take you back in time, say something about who you are today, and become part of who you will be.

That is what we look for in Roy Art: a heritage, a story, a history. Something you can hold and have a relationship with. Something that means more as you come to understand it.

Jewelry encapsulates that perfectly. It can hold a memory, mark a moment, and become part of how you see yourself.

Roy Art is an extension of that belief. It gives us room to explore beyond what is traditionally thought of as jewelry. And what is traditionally thought of as art.

02 / Context

Home is beyond home.

An Indian pavilion framed by a carved arch
Reference / Architecture

India is home. It will always be bestowed a great deference.

That is part of who I am, and part of how I see. The colours, materials and histories of home will always have a place at Roy.

But home is beyond where you are from. It is where you have been, and most importantly, where you are going. Home is where you are spiritually, at that particular cosmic moment in time.

We want Roy Art to remain open to that feeling of recognition, wherever we find it. At its precise moment.

Objects.

Reference / Detail

Roy Art gives us the freedom to follow an idea wherever it takes us.

Some objects we discover. Others we develop with makers. Sometimes, the starting point is a person whose work we want to help bring into the world.

What draws us in might be a history, a material, a way of making, or simply something we haven’t seen before. We want room for instinct, experimentation and ideas that don’t fit a category.

However experimental the idea, every object takes a physical form. Roy Art will unfold through an ongoing series of numbered releases, each with its own story. We’ll share what’s coming as it takes shape.
